I’ve owned each of Burford, Judges and Shift4 recently, and in each case, exited on account of my portfolio management rule, that when faced with a 20% drawdown, I either exit or double down. I exited all three.

My goal in this short write-up is to describe how I see the three businesses and their stocks today. The opportunity set out there is as rich as I’ve ever seen and I am fully invested. Thus, I also say what stocks I own that I prefer, and a bit on why. I end with a closing thought, on big, hairy deals, which all these stocks have in common with my largest holding, Terravest.
